Family characteristics are often evident as sons and fathers gather for photos, when they speak, or in their actions.
Lonnie and Twyla Schultz expected some traits of theirs to pass to their four children, but they didn’t expect to see their three sons wearing the same work uniform as their father.

10 local EMT’s earn Code Save award
Ten members of West Point Rescue received Code Save Awards at their monthly meeting last Wednesday.
The award is presented to EMS providers who saved a life during CPR and/or defibrillation. It is presented by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, EMS Program.

Arlington shuts down Seniors
West Point’s lack of offense left the American Legion Senior baseball team on the short end of a shutout setback to Arlington, losing 2-0 Monday evening at Anderson Field.
West Point managed just three hits off winning pitcher Mitch Thompson. Derek Grovijohn singled in the first inning, Cody Fischer in the third, and Trent Ortmeier in the fourth.

Funeral services for Gladys Vrba, 86, of Schuyler were held Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Schuyler with Rev. Bill Mattfeld officiating. Burial was in the Schuyler Cemetery.Grateful for having shared her life are her son, Thomas Brock Vrba, Clarkson; daughter, Peggy (Donald) Glodowski, Schuyler; three grandchildren, James Glodowski, Columbus; Jennifer Glodowski, Manhattan, KS; Jonathan Glodowski, Lincoln; three great grandchildren, Logan Zinnell, Tristan Graham, Kaitlin Glodowski, all of Columbus; a sister, LaVanda Schulz, Norfolk; brother, Dale (Geri) Broekemeier, Fountain Hills, AZ, brother-in-law, Anton Vrba Jr, Schuyler, sister-in-law, Shirley Shull-Bair, Lincoln, and many nieces and nephews.
