Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

LaMont Keller - December 05, 2012
Funeral services for LaMont Keller, age 76 of Wisner, will be Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at the Christ Lutheran Church in Wisner. Interment with military honors will be in the Wisner Cemetery. LaMont passed away on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at the Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln.Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Keller of Wisner; children and their families, Byron and wife Jenn Keller of Wisner, and children Alecia and Olivia, Kristie and husband Ken Minzel of Lincoln, and family Brooklyn, Brennan and wife Lauren, Kassee, Mavrick and friend Lauren Hoover, Julie and husband Arlan Visser of Omaha, and children Avery and Gavin; sister, Margaret Kersch of Fullerton, Calif.; brother-in-law, Loren Schroeder of Wisner; sister-in-law, Vivene Keller of Norfolk; several nieces, nephews and numerous friends also survive him.
Minnick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
