Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25... West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Pearl E. Stuthman - December 12, 2012

Funeral services for Pearl E. Stuthman, age 93, formerly of Norfolk, will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Brockhaus-Howser-Fillmer Funeral Home, 901 North 13th Street, in Norfolk.
Pastor Frank Brink will officiate, with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Norfolk. Visitation will be Monday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., atBrockhaus-Howser-Fillmer Funeral Home.
Pearl died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at Royal Springs Healthcare and Rehab in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Pearl leaves to mourn her passing her sons, Eldon Ray Stuthman of Norfolk, Nebraska, and Las Vegas, Nevada, and Clifford E. (Kathy) Stuthman of Omaha, Nebraska; three grandsons, Jon “Tony” Stuthman and wife Lita of Norfolk, Terry Stuthman of Las Vegas, and Tim Stuthman of Elkhorn; three great-granddaughters, Katherine Stuthman of Norfolk, and Alycia A. Stuthman and Katylnn Stillwell; one great-grandson, Jacob Stuthman of Norfolk; and one sister, Peggy Ann Flesner of Plainview.
Per family request, memorials may be directed to the Carson Cancer Center in Norfolk, Nebraska.
