Family characteristics are often evident as sons and fathers gather for photos, when they speak, or in their actions.
Lonnie and Twyla Schultz expected some traits of theirs to pass to their four children, but they didn’t expect to see their three sons wearing the same work uniform as their father.

10 local EMT’s earn Code Save award
Ten members of West Point Rescue received Code Save Awards at their monthly meeting last Wednesday.
The award is presented to EMS providers who saved a life during CPR and/or defibrillation. It is presented by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, EMS Program.

Arlington shuts down Seniors
West Point’s lack of offense left the American Legion Senior baseball team on the short end of a shutout setback to Arlington, losing 2-0 Monday evening at Anderson Field.
West Point managed just three hits off winning pitcher Mitch Thompson. Derek Grovijohn singled in the first inning, Cody Fischer in the third, and Trent Ortmeier in the fourth.

Merlin Erickson - December 19, 2012
Merlin “Swede” “Bud” Erickson, 83, Lincoln, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, in Lincoln.His family includes son and daughter-in-law, Linn and Brenda Erickson; daughter, Keri Erickson, both of Lincoln; grandchildren, Charis Erickson, Ezra Erickson, Nebraska Grayson and Revelation Grayson; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at First Evangelical Free Church, 3280 S. 84th St., Lincoln. Burial was at the Salem Cemetery, Oakland.
Memorials may be given to Lincoln Christian School, 5801 S 84th St., Lincoln, NE 68516, Salem Covenant Church, 290 County Road I, Oakland, NE 68045 or Timberlake Ranch Camps, 2709 No. S Road, Marquette, NE 68854.
Arrangements were by Roper and Sons Funeral Services.
