Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Delwin Braun - January 23, 2013
Funeral services for Delwin Dean Braun, 71, Escalon, CA, were held Jan. 14, 2013, at Trinity Church A/G in Escalon. He died on Jan. 6, 2013.He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of 48 ½ years; four children: Jeanne (Chuck) Clayton, Judy Cooney, Dennis Braun and Sue (Gary) Lemings; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters: twin brother Melvin Braun and Betty Eschliman, both of Wisner; Harold Braun, Florida; Clifford Braun and Judy Buhrman, Fremont; Rose Ann Sims, Indiana; and Trudy Nilges, Blair.
