Family characteristics are often evident as sons and fathers gather for photos, when they speak, or in their actions.
Lonnie and Twyla Schultz expected some traits of theirs to pass to their four children, but they didn’t expect to see their three sons wearing the same work uniform as their father.

10 local EMT’s earn Code Save award
Ten members of West Point Rescue received Code Save Awards at their monthly meeting last Wednesday.
The award is presented to EMS providers who saved a life during CPR and/or defibrillation. It is presented by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, EMS Program.

Arlington shuts down Seniors
West Point’s lack of offense left the American Legion Senior baseball team on the short end of a shutout setback to Arlington, losing 2-0 Monday evening at Anderson Field.
West Point managed just three hits off winning pitcher Mitch Thompson. Derek Grovijohn singled in the first inning, Cody Fischer in the third, and Trent Ortmeier in the fourth.

George Barry - February 06, 2013
Funeral services for George W. Barry, 97, of Battle Creek were Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at St. John Lutheran Church, Battle Creek. Rev. Richard Snow officiated. Burial was in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery with Military Rites by American Legion Post 60, VFW Post 4912 and American Legion Post 75.Steffen Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Barry died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013 at the Colonial Haven in Beemer.
George is survived by his son, Bill and his wife Bev Barry of West Point; three grandchildren, Brenda (Rusty) Bartlett of Pender, Patrick (Heather) Barry of Omaha, and Bridget (Eric) Schultz of Adams; a step granddaughter, Alecia Unkel of Denver, Colo.; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Anna Marquardt, and Marie Harper of Battle Creek and Minnie Eisenach of Phoenix, Ariz.; and two sisters-in-law, Jeannie Barry and Louise Barry of Battle Creek.
