Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Lois A. Tomrdle - February 13, 2013
Funeral services for Lois A. Tomrdle age 83 of Wisner, were held on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wisner. Interment was in the Wisner Cemetery.Lois passed away on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at the Providence Medical Center in Wayne.
Survivors include son Don and wife A-Kuei Jurgensen of Homestead, FL; daughter Patricia and husband Dave Hoar of Norfolk; stepchildren Greg and wife Nancy Tomrdle of Hooper, Marty and wife Cyndi Tomrdle of Bellevue, Jeanette Baker of Kansas; stepdaughter-in-law Jacque Tomrdle of Colorado Springs, CO; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; sister Maggie and husband Cecil Eschliman of Wisner.
