Family characteristics are often evident as sons and fathers gather for photos, when they speak, or in their actions.
Lonnie and Twyla Schultz expected some traits of theirs to pass to their four children, but they didn’t expect to see their three sons wearing the same work uniform as their father.

10 local EMT’s earn Code Save award
Ten members of West Point Rescue received Code Save Awards at their monthly meeting last Wednesday.
The award is presented to EMS providers who saved a life during CPR and/or defibrillation. It is presented by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, EMS Program.

Arlington shuts down Seniors
West Point’s lack of offense left the American Legion Senior baseball team on the short end of a shutout setback to Arlington, losing 2-0 Monday evening at Anderson Field.

Edwin Rust, 90, of West Point, died Friday, March 1, 2013, at the West Point Living Center. Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Stokely Funeral Home. Rev. Frank Lordemann will officiate.Edwin George Rust was born Feb. 21, 1923 in Adrian, Minn. to G Ed is survived by his son, Doug Rust of New Ulm, Minn. and his children Cody and Courtney; daughter, Dawn (Tony) Allison of Mocksville, N.C. and their children Patricia, Jessica, Rachel, and Dana; daughter, Laurie Cameron of LaVerne, Minn.; granddaughter, Joy (Doug) Stratman of West Point and their children Cassidee, Carter, and Cade; and sister, Bernice Gramstad of New Mexico.
Stokely Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
