Edwin Baumert - March 13, 2013
Edwin (Ed) Baumert, 89, of West Point, made his journey to Heaven with family present while being anointed, Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the West Point Living Center. A funeral Mass was Saturday, March 9, 2013, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Rev. Frank Lordemann officiated. Burial was at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
Ed is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; children, Charles (Laurie) Baumert of Norfolk, Bill Baumert of Los Angeles, Calif., Harry (Lynn) Baumert of Minneapolis, Minn., Keith (Pam) Baumert of Omaha, and Sr. Marcia Baumert, FSPA of West Point; grandchildren, Eric Baumert of Norfolk, Emily (Brian) Bremer of Farmington, Minn., Kate (Alex) Sutterfield of Fayetteville, Ark., Jennifer Baumert of Omaha, and Kelly (Brett) Rutter of Omaha; great-grandchildren, Miles and Margo Bremer of Farmington, Minn.; and sister, Clara Miserez of Omaha. Ed loved children and small animals (whom he called ‘God’s little creatures’), in particular the family cat, Butterscotch.
Ed requested that memorials be directed to the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, St. Rose Convent 912 Market St. La Crosse, WI 54601, in appreciation for the work, prayer and compassionate presence of the community.
Stokely Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
