Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Ruth Reppert - July 28, 2010
Ruth E. Reppert, 89, of West Point, died, Thursday, July 22, 2010, at West Point Living Center.Funeral services were Saturday, July 24, 2010, at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Rev. Richard Bringewatt officiated. Burial was at Mount Hope Cemetery prior to the funeral services.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Survivors include children, Ruth Ann and Terry Saner, Paul, Jr. and Maren and Daniel and Sandra Reppert all of West Point and Chris Stuckenschmidt of Lincoln; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Doris Johnson of West Point.
Stokely Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
