Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Jesse Breitkreutz - July 28, 2010
Jesse Adam Breitkreutz, 27,Tilden, died Sunday, July 18, 2010. A memorial service was Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden. Jesse died Sunday, July 18, 2010, as a result of an automobile accident.Survivors include his fiancé, Ashley Madajczyk; daughter, Ava Jo Breitkreutz both of Tilden; parents, Kevin and Rhonda Heldt of Tilden, Scott and Cindy Breitkreutz of Blair; sisters, Tanya amd Tom Lindahal of Coos Bay, Ore., Ashly Heldt of Lincoln, Lexi Breitkreutz of Blair; brothers, Jacob Heldt of Tilden, Reggie and JJ Breitkreutz both of Blair.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Brockhaus Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
