Pool prep continues, splashing to resume May 25...
West Point City employees Jim Peatrowsky and Dennis Wordekemper (not pictured) were finishing up some crack caulking around the swimming pool this morning (Wednesday). The pool was filled Monday and Tuesday. From now through Friday, May 24, lifeguards will be vacuuming dirt that settles at the bottom of the pool and making sure the water’s pH balance is correct.

West Point-Beemer’s Mackenzie Berg turns a little red while principal DJ Weddle shares a story about Mackenzie during Sunday’s graduation ceremony. It was a special day for Berg. Not only did she receive her high school diploma, it was also Berg’s birthday. WP-B had 62 graduates.
27 area kids off to Burke
A total of 27 area track athletes qualified for the 2013 State Track & Field meet this Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke.
Qualifiers from each area school include: West Point-Beemer (3), Central Catholic (19), Scribner-Snyder (4) and Bancroft-Rosalie (1).

Lorraine Luebbert - August 04, 2010
Lorraine Luebbert, 85, of West Point, died Thursday, July 29, 2010, at the West Point Living Center. A funeral Mass was Saturday, July 31, 2010, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Frank Lordemann as celebrant. Burial was at St. Michael’s Cemetery.Survivors include sons, Eugene of Knoxville, Iowa, and Duane and Elizabeth of Omaha; brother, David and Gladys Throener of West Point; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Stokely Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
