The Cuming County Agricultural Society last week agreed to accept the City of West Point’s latest offer that will give the city an easement for property it needs that is located on the Cuming County fairgrounds.

The city council voted last night (Tuesday) to also accept the agreement after some changes suggested by the ag society. The city needs the easement so the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) can extend the berm on the city levee 100 feet on the south side of the levee that runs on the north edge of the fairgrounds in West Point.
