The City of West Point is moving forward with an updated comprehensive planning program, conducted with the guidance of the West Point Planning Commission and the assistance of Hanna:Keelan Associates.

It will include an update of the city’s current comprehensive plan and housing study that was completed in 2012.

The program is funded by a housing grant provided by the Nebraska Investment Finance Authority, with matching funds from the city.

The updated comprehensive plan will include a review of existing and future land use, public facilities, an economic development profile and plan and a review of current zoning and subdivision regulations.

The updated housing study will include a review of important population, income and economic data, a housing stock analysis, strategies for affordable housing development, a five-year housing action plan for both new and rehabilitated housing, and funding options for both future owner and rental housing developments.
