The Cuming County Board of Supervisors agreed yesterday (Tuesday) to begin a “soft opening” of the courthouse, possibly as early as next week.

The courthouse has been closed to the public since mid-March in the interest of protecting the public and county staff from the COVID-19 pandemic. Entrances to the courthouse have remained locked, county employees have been reporting to work as directed by their department supervisor and have been doing some business by appointment only and some via the phone, e-mails and Zoom meetings.
