West Point News learned early last Thursday afternoon that Hy-Vee has signed a contract to locate a store in West Point. That news was confirmed by Christina Gayman, Hy-Vee’s Director of Public Relations. She could not yet give a time frame for a possible opening.
Dave Baumert, who owns the 33,000 square foot building where the former Shopko was located, also told the West Point News early Thursday afternoon that Hy-Vee did sign a contract to lease that building. The lease is for 10 years, with three 5-year options after that.
