It’s grillin’ time, and there’s yet another local meat market from which to select your entrée.
West Point’s ASC Lockers, Inc. is now offering over-the-counter meat sales. The meat will be cuts from Nebraska fed livestock that is purchased from local producers.
ASC Lockers opened in January of 2013 on the north edge of West Point, offering custom slaughter of beef, pork and lamb. Owner Aaron Koch had initially planned for the locker to also sell beef, pork and lamb, but the process took a bit longer than expected.
ASC Lockers had to become a federally inspected plant before it could buy and sell locally raised beef and pork to the public. That process was a lengthy one, but the freezer is now full and ASC is ready for customers.
