West Point’s City Council last night (Tuesday) approved a 2019-2020 budget that seeks a $60,634 increase in property taxes and a tax levy of 46.79 cents per $100 of valuation, which is less than the current levy of 47.93 cents.

Helping lower the levy even though the tax request is up was the $17.9 million increase in the city’s valuation.
