The City of West Point’s newest police officer has been on the job a month and hasn’t been dissuaded from sticking with a career in law enforcement.

Miguel Pena, a 2016 graduate of West Point, is a probationary officer who will become certified either later this year or in January. Until then, he must ride with a certified officer, which is usually John Adams or Brett Vance. Officer Adams said Pena is bilingual, which is an asset to the department.
