As Flat Lois visited the GACC first grade class she noticed some things. The children wore uniforms with blue as the primary color. They didn’t mind that she wasn’t in blue but instead in her black and white just like a newspaper. They still welcomed her into their classroom and activities, anxious to see what she would report about them in the West Point News.

This was Lois’ second week of visiting a local first grade class. She is hoping to encourage them to read newspapers with their families.

The school week started with Lois sitting with the helper of the day in Ms. Brester’s room. The first grade class was told all about Flat Lois, but the other school students in the school were curious about her when they saw her at lunch or walking the halls with the first graders.

At lunch the students ate pasta bar and a favorite was mac and cheese.
