Working around meal gatherings and sticking to a diet can be a challenge during the holidays.

The Diabetes Support Group at St. Francis Memorial Hospital took that into consideration when they met recently, and decided to share some tips and tricks for getting through the holiday season for those with diabetes.

DeLayne Brudigam, Health Coach and Diabetes Educator, and Shelly Green, Dietitian, know what everyone, not just those with diabetes, face where food is often the focus.

They say there are alternative recipes to help people with carbohydrate counting.

They shared recipes for a sweet onion, white bean and artichoke dip, along with chicken Ceasar salad lunch wraps. Both items were on the lunch menu with those attending the Diabetes Support Group meeting.
