With winter weather setting the stage for the holiday season many Americans look forward to, it’s easy to get a picture of Christmas as the time of year when the whole world is white.
But for Gustav Grimelius, a foreign exchange student from Stockholm, Sweden, the winter landscape is much more everyday.
Gustav, who is attending West Point-Beemer High School this year, is spending this Christmas with his host family, Tim and Tracy Oligmueller and their daughter, Emily, of Beemer.
This is his first time he has not been home for the holidays, but he doesn’t feel too upset about it.
“I’m excited to see how the holidays are different in America,” Gustav said. “There are a lot of things that are the same, but I want to see how the little things are different.”
