West Point Community Theatre is entering another phase of the refurbishing of the theatre.
Work is underway on the walls to the north and south of the stage front and on the proscenium (arch).
The original walls had not been replaced, only painted.
Another project will include building an orchestra pit, which will be partially under the stage.
The final project will be the flight tower in the building.
The restoration of the building began in late 2008 when the West Point Community Theatre was granted the building from the City of West Point. Work began to turn it into a movie theatre. Movies were shown starting in 2009.
