Doug Peterson has been a part of West Point’s Last Fling ’til Spring Car Show since its inception 30 years ago, and Sunday it was reinforced to him what a gem of an event it has become.
Late in the day, a car show regular told him, “You can’t let this show die. It’s a legend.”
“I never thought of it like that,” Doug said. “But it has grown into something spectacular that people just keep coming back to.”
Sunday there were 562 cars, trucks, motorcycles parked in West Point’s downtown business district for the 30th annual ‘Last Fling.’ There was even a military helicopter that was part of this year’s show.
