COVID-19 vaccine

Henry and Bernadette Drueke of West Point were two of the 174 people who received the Moderna vaccine in West Point last Thursday to help ward off COVID-19. The event was arranged by the Elkhorn Logan Valley Public Health Department. Giving the shots was Nikki Mullanix, a nurse with ELVPHD.

Bernadette Drueke admits that, initially, she had some concerns about getting the COVID-19 vaccine. But as time passed, she changed her mind. And when the opportunity came for her and her husband, Henry, to receive the vaccine, they took it.

“I don’t think Henry ever had a problem with getting the shot,” she said. “When they first talked about the vaccine I said I’d never get one. But then when I realized it was the only way to help get past this I changed my mind.”
