Beef educator

Alfredo DiCostanzo, Ph.D.

Cuming County’ beef producers will soon have the experience and knowledge of an Extension educator who specializes in beef to tap into once again.

Alfredo DiCostanzo, Ph.D., accepted the job last week and will begin working in Cuming and nine other counties March 1. He is currently a professor and Extension Animal Scientist with the University of Minnesota (UofM). He will retire from that university’s Extension Service this week after just shy of 30 years of service.

DiCostanzo’s home office will be in Cuming County but he will serve the 10-county Northeast Nebraska Beef Accountability Region, just as Extension Educator Larry Howard did before retiring in June of 2020. The other nine counties are Dixon, Dakota, Wayne, Thurston, Stanton, Burt, Colfax, Dodge and Washington.
