Female farmers

Lila Jahnke is one of a number of women who help on the family farm in Cuming County.

During harvest time in Cuming County, the phrase is often heard, “We’ve worked for this all year.”

It’s a time when, after months of seeing their crops grow, farmers feel a sense of satisfaction, knowing that all their efforts were for a purpose.

Behind the wheels of those combines, grain carts and trucks seen in the fields and on the roads are some of Cuming County’s female farmers who have worked hard this harvest season.
