Steve Schwer was among the veterans who signed the display set up in the lobby of the school that welcomed the veterans.

Master Sergeant Anthony Modlin told those gathered at Monday’s Veterans Day program in West Point that there are several ways to thank the veterans for their service and sacrifices. “A simple handshake is just the beginning,” he said of how to thank them.

“Living your lives and enjoying America’s greatness and taking full advantage of the rights they have given you” is the best way to thank them, he added.
