Sandbag cleanup

Faith Cole cuts open a bag and dumps out the sand east of the horse arena at the Cuming County fairgrounds at last week’s sandbag cleanup in West Point following the flooding that occurred in March.

Volunteers spent the evening tossing sandbags into the bucket to be hauled away and disposed of. The work began at 5:30 p.m. and by 7:15 it was wrapped up.
