If all goes as planned, construction of the Nebraska Department of Transportation’s $119.6 million US-275 West Point to Scribner expressway project could begin in the spring of 2021, about two years later than NDOT officials promised in 2018.

That was the time table shared by NDOT Roadway Design Engineer Kyle Keller at a public meeting last Wednesday night in Scribner. The project, part of an expressway plan prioritized in 1988 and first promised to be finished in 2003, has been met with delays caused by lack of funds, a needed environmental study and a change in the contract delivery process.
