Even though it wasn’t on the agenda, West Point’s ongoing issue with high manganese levels in the city water was the main topic of discussion at last night’s (Tuesday) City Council meeting.

Resident Lisa Eisenmenger, after hearing City Administrator Tom Goulette’s update on the water treatment plant upgrade, asked why the water issue wasn’t on the meeting  agenda.

She said officials at the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) told her the resolution to the problem shouldn’t be taking this long.
