West Point Public Schools’ Board of Education will hold its budget hearing tonight (Wednesday). This year’s budget calls for less spending and less taxes than a year ago. The WPPS budget hearing will take place at 7 p.m. at the district’s alternative energy building.
The district is looking at a total tax request of $10,033,070, which is $473,898 lower than last year’s request.
That tax need, plus the $47 million valuation growth, will shave the school’s tax levy 6.3 cents, lowering it to 74.68 cents from 81 cents.
