John Throener, 83, of West Point, died Monday, August 26, 2019, at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 29 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at St. Charles with Father Steve Emanuel as celebrant. Burial with military honors will be at St. Anthony’s Cemetery with lunch following at the Nielsen Community Center.
Survivors include his wife, Rita, of West Point, and children:
Dean (Eileen Vice) of Waggaman, La.;
Donna (Steve) Meister of West Point and their family: Brent Meister of West Point, Jamie (Jared) Bethune of Wayne, Brandon Meister of West Point, Brooke Meister of West Point;
Dale (Cheryl) of Blair and their family: Megan Throener (fiancé Zachary Lusienski) of Omaha, Melissa Throener of Ft. Rucker, Ala., and Matthew Throener of Wayne;
Dan (Hazell) of Lincoln and family: Sophia and Natasha of Lincoln;
Doreen (Brian) Fischer of West Point and family: Krista, Jonathan, and Kayla of West Point;
Denise (Jay) Kreikemeier of West Point and family: Avery, Amber, and Abby of West Point.
Also surviving are a sister, Marilyn (Don) Kloke of Medford, Ore.; and sister-in-law, Agnes Throener of Omaha.
John is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Irvin (Rita), Jerome, and Norbert in infancy.
