Memorial services for Sylvia Iden, age 91 of West Point, were held Saturday, March 6, 2021, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Beemer, with Pastor Robert Mayes officiating. Interment was in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Sylvia passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021, at the Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Beemer.
Survivors include her children and their families:
- Connie Bargmann of Bancroft, and family: Tricia and Brook Darnell and children Auston and Devon, and Jarrod Bargmann and children Derek, Taylor and Kayla;
- Gloria and Tom Wellman of Beemer, and family: Jamie and Scott Jordahl and children Logan, Lily and Lucas; Nick and Sandi Wellman and children Calvin, Noah and Averi; Carly and Rickie Meers and children Addison, Tre, Paige and Gabriel
-Mark and Diana Iden of West Point, and family: Ashley and Nathan McKown and children River and Finley; Jordan and Mackenzie Iden and children Jacob, Jaxton and Jett; and Amanda and Adam Schueth and children Cache and Cooper.
Also surviving are two sisters, IlaJean Burns of Hammond, Ind., and Jeanne and Ed Loewe of Fremont; sister-in-law, Vernell and Joe Giorla of Deer Park, N.J.; and brother-in-law, Curt Iden of Redding, Calif.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Orville of 52 years; son-in-law, Gary Bargmann; two siblings, Aaron Brockemeier and Arvalene Christ and her husband, Richard; brother-in-law, Jim Burns; and sister-in-law, Lorraine Katzberg and her husband Dale.
Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation in Sylvia’s name.
