Pardon me for taking a break from commenting on matters relating to budgets, rural zoning and other city, county and school matters. It’s just that every now and then I need to return to my roots to keep my sanity.

It’s crunch time for high school football teams. With two weeks left in the regular season several teams have playoff spots locked up, some are in must-win situations to make playoffs, and some are out of the running for post-season play but still playing for pride.
