Being married to the person who managed the West Point swimming pool for several summers – and still assists at the pool when needed – I can attest to the poor condition of that recreational facility.

It isn’t a scare tactic when I say that the pool is on life support. Three years ago the guts – filter, heater, back wash – almost died but were brought back to life. I’m not sure another resuscitation can be done.

It’s not that the pool hasn’t been maintained well. It’s essential elements – those guts – are like me: just getting old and in need of frequent doctoring.
