The ballot issue before City of West Point voters contains some of the legal jargon ballot issues are known for, but the issue really isn’t that complicated. And this ballot issue needs the support of the voters.

What’s at stake is money West Point’s local sales tax is collecting for economic development. The ballot issue doesn’t raise that tax, nor does it extend the life of the tax, which will end in 2027 unless voters at that time agree to keep it in place.
