Maybe a little bit of a wake-up call was exactly what Bancroft-Rosalie/Lyons-Decatur needed to secure a second consecutive Class C2 Boys State Basketball championship title, which capped off a perfect 29-0 record.

After sneaking by Sutton in the semifinals, BRLD head coach Cory Meyer challenged his team to play with a greater deal of motivation. The Wolverines were up to that challenge.

In a motivated performance, BRLD’s quest to repeat was never in doubt during a 61-47 win over top-seeded Grand Island Central Catholic in the Class C2 State Basketball finals Saturday evening at Lincoln’s Pinnacle Bank Arena.
