GACC running back Cole Hutchinson gets to the edge on a nice run Friday night against Clarkson/Leigh. Teammate Kadin Pojar throws a block.

An inability to stop the run, and some costly turnovers, were contributing factors to Guardian Angels Central Catholic’s lopsided loss to state-ranked Clarkson/Leigh, 52-24, Friday night in Beemer.

The Patriots’ offensive line blew open some big holes and Clarkson/Leigh’s duo rushing attack of Eli Hays and Kyle Kasik took advantage. They combined for 357 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Hays had four of those. In total, Clarkson/Leigh gashed the Bluejay defense for 516 yards.
