Bluejays state-bound

Bluejay senior Kayla Fischer and head coach Allan Kreikemeier were all smiles after Friday’s district title win over Raymond Central. Kreikemeier said this team has leaned on Fischer all season long, and will continue to do so at state.

The goal all season long for Guardian Angels Central Catholic’s softball team was a chance to defend their Class C state title.

And after capturing the C-3 District title Friday at Timmermann Park in West Point, GACC will have that opportunity as the Bluejays qualified for the Class C State Softball tourney thanks to a pair of wins over Raymond Central.

This marks GACC’s 11th consecutive appearance to the state tournament.
