Bluejays back to state

Bluejay Kayla Fischer is at the center of the soon-to-be mob at home plate following a Marissa Hunke home run in the C-5 District tournament. The Buejays hit five homers during Saturday’s two games.

When becoming head coach of the Bluejay softball program back in 2003, Allan Kreikemeier’s wish was to make it to state – just once.

That wish came true in 2011 when Guardian Angels Central Catholic made its first state appearance. Since then, the Bluejays have made the trip to Hastings every year, including this season, which marks their ninth consecutive state tournament.
