Cadet Campbell Snodgrass maneuvers through heavy traffic in last week’s Howells-Dodge game.

Both teams made some runs. But down the stretch, Howells-Dodge made the most of their opportunities to secure a 49-45 win over the West Point-Beemer girls basketball team last week Tuesday (December 13) in West Point.

West Point-Beemer held a three-point advantage, up 35-32, heading into the final quarter. That lead, however, didn’t stick as Howells-Dodge outscored the Cadets 17-10 over the final eight minutes of the game.

“I was really proud of our girls’ effort. I thought that they battled for 32 minutes against a very physical team,” Cadet head coach Taylor Shepard said.

“At the end of the game, Howells-Dodge really turned up their defensive intensity and made it difficult for us to find opportunities for us to score.”
