GACC Volleyball

A fired up Greta Wooldrik celebrates a Bluejay point.

On the verge of the match going to a fourth set, Guardian Angels Central Catholic delivered some gritty play down the stretch.

And by doing so, the Bluejay volleyball team produced a three-game sweep over O’Neill last Thursday (September 15) in West Point.

GACC trailed late, but got a crucial point scored by Reese Throener to help swing momentum into their favor. That locked up a 26-24 win. Scores from the first two sets were 25-10, 25-20.

“At the end of the day, it’s all about winning sets and winning games,” GACC head coach Maddie Gideon said. “It would have been nice to finish a little further ahead. But they pulled it out, and I’m happy with that.”
