Defense was the turning point for West Point-Beemer in their 50-38 win over Auburn in the opening round of the 2019 Great Northeast Nebraska Shootout Friday at Wayne State College. West Point-Beemer trailed for the first three quarters, but thanks to their defensive pressure, took a lead in the final quarter.
With West Point-Beemer’s win over Arlington in the semifinals, the Cadets moved into the Great Northeast Nebraska Shootout championship game. That game was delayed a day due to weather, but WP-B played Hastings St. Cecilia on New Year’s Eve.
