From the backyard to the Hall of Fame, football has provided Chris Strehle with friendships and memories at every stage of his life.
Strehle cherished the time he spent on the football field, and his passion for the sport continues to burn.
Recently, Strehle was recognized for his talents on the football field as he was inducted into the 2018 Midland University Athletic Hall of Fame in September.
Strehle ended his playing days with a prolific career from 2001-04 at Midland Lutheran College (now Midland University). Strehle closed as the 3rd leading rusher in Warrior football history. He rushed for 3,063 yards in his career.
Technically, Chris launched his football career in 7th grade. But in reality it was sooner than that. Backyard football is where it all started for Strehle back in 3rd or 4th grade.
The Strehle family (Greg and Rita) hosted Sunday afternoon football games at their farm place west of West Point where Chris and his friends played some spirited games.
“That’s really where it all started. Sunday afternoon football at mom and dads,” Strehle said about how his love for football began.
