All game long, West Point-Beemer played hard and played with a great deal of confidence.
And it was that confidence that carried the Cadets to a 58-38 win over Norfolk Catholic in the White Division title game of the Wayne State College boys holiday tourney Monday at Rice Auditorium.
Head coach Cody Bobolz really stressed the importance of being in attack mode, and his players got the message.
“I was really proud of our guys. We had talked a lot about playing with some urgency and attacking from the start of the game, and I thought we really did a nice job of that,” Bobolz said.
The VanderGriend brothers had huge games for the Cadets. Ben poured in a game-high 15 points, while Zach added 14 points. Jesus Barragan also delivered a 14-point performance.
