Junior Gavin Kreikemeier nearly beats a throw to 1st base during West Point’s home game against Wayne Friday (June 17).

Wayne held West Point scoreless in a 3-0 win over the American Legion Juniors Friday night (June 17) at Anderson Field.

And despite being shutout, West Point coach Bruce Schlecht was proud of how his team competed.

“We played well. We had our chances,” Schlecht said. “Wayne is just a really good team. I’d be really surprised if they weren’t playing at the state tournament.”
