Girls State Basketball

A common sight during GACC’s opening round game at the Girls State Basketball tournament was players diving on the floor. Bluejay Kate Gnad does just that as she battles for a loose ball against Ponca’s Mattie Milligan.

Missed shots, turnovers, fouls. Not much went right for Guardian Angels Central Catholic in their 59-45 loss to Ponca in the opening round of the Class C2 Girls State Basketball tournament last week Wednesday at Lincoln Southeast High School.

Ponca, who was the Class C2 state runners-up, had plenty to do with that, especially with their relentless defensive pressure.
