After going winless in pool play, Guardian Angels Central Catholic bounced back and went 3-0 to capture the Bronze Division title at the NEN Volleyball Classic last Saturday (September 3) in Wisner.
Outside of a close set with Wayne, GACC was in complete control in all three matches. Bluejay wins came over Wayne, Tekamah-Herman and West Point-Beemer.
Like they did in pool play, GACC was playing short-handed. Unlike pool play, the Bluejays were able to overcome that on the final day of the tournament.
“I think we finally made the adjustments that were needed to be successful,” GACC head coach Maddie Gideon said. “I was very pleased with our girls who stepped up and played in positions that they were not used to.”
