The Wisner-Pilger High School class of 1970 was the first class to graduate from the newly consolidated school district and from the newly constructed Wisner-Pilger high school. This 50-year milestone was to be celebrated at the annual Wisner-Pilger alumni banquet, originally scheduled for May 23, until it was postponed due to concerns over COVID-19.
The banquet has been postponed to May 2021 and is being dubbed a “50 plus one” celebration. Although alumni weren’t able to celebrate this weekend, the Wisner-News Chronicle contacted several Wisner-Pilger 1970 graduates for their recollections of their historic senior year and the new high school building from which they graduated.
